A body crosses the city without walking. Artist Diona Kusari, accompanied by performer Arbnora Ademi, traverses the city from one point to another, without walking conventionally. She may crawl, she may roll or she may be inspired by inventing unconventional ways of moving. The automated patterns of body movement are subverted through experimentation. The body that is programmed to behave when it is visible, observed and (pre)judged is revealed. The performance reveals a social choreography staged on the urban paths of the city. These paths are transformed into a laboratory, where the limits of shame, observation, norm and predictability are tested. Each deviation from conventional walking emerges the invisible choreography of public life in the public space: expectations, (pre)judgements and the relationship between the body itself and the state of being observed. The performance ends by leaving traces of the Walk, temporary installed as a legacy of this anti-walking protocol, of the body and its shame. This performance is part of the project "Probability, Bias, Faith or Exercises in Quantum Entanglement ", which explores the conditioned responses, automatic behaviors, and biases that structure our experiences in public space.
