HAPU! Open Up with courage! Open Up with heroes!
Dear Hapurians of Public Space,
Being grateful that you have been staying open with us throughout this time, we are meeting again, for the twelfth time. Once again, we will transform the public space of Prishtina, which is becoming more and more chaotic, stiffer, and more suffocating. HAPU brings you this year, too, special artistic experiences, which are thought and artistically conceptualised specifically for the public space, our common playground at HAPU. We are bringing to you artists who are developing their work right now, trying out, collaborating openly, together, with us, with you and with the city.
If we didn’t make an effort and didn’t try out, we wouldn’t have gotten anywhere!
This is how Losinformalls make an effort. They are classified as extra motivated people and they are coming from Catalonia. They keep trying out, even when there is disorder, they try and they create when uncertainty emerges. They continue to be extra motivated and thus give you extra motivation. Come and experience this shared endeavour on “Mother Teresa” Boulevard close to the building of the Ministry of Culture.
On the other hand, KRA, coming from Austria and Argentina, will try to save the world. In their Arnold Schwarzenegger mission in Prishtina, they don’t stop. They call it an “Action,” and their try out turns into an action movie. Prishtina’s iconic Youth Palace becomes the film set. KRA invites you to join them in this Action. Before complaining that we cannot do anything for the environment, we invite you to at least try, and join KRA in this mission. You can find them at the side entrance of the Youth Palace, the side of the former “Rilindja” building.
In a path that traverses the city starting from “Bill Clinton” Statue, Diona Kusari, accompanied by Arbnora Ademi, will try to choreograph what we don’t see in public life, in the public space: the happenings between the shame and the body.
At the intersection near the ABC cinema on “Mother Teresa” Boulevard, ___. (Blank) Collective will try to discuss openly (Hapur) about the developments, about the gravity and the navigation of the public space, as well as the relationship with its owners, the members of the public. The public is invited to openly articulate their concerns, desires and challenges.
At our meeting point during these 3 days, in the former “Hivzi Sylejmani” library, greatly experienced women tell us about their efforts and their life experiences. Together with young women, they tell us the validity of life’s efforts and that giving up on challenges is not an option. There, we will conclude the Festival with the sounds and voice of Sara Paymán. She will try to gift us her special perspective on the immortality of the beautiful and old Albanian songs, inviting us to conclude our common celebration in our common space, in the public space.
Welcome!
